The 3rd greatest recorded 24 hour storm in the Chicago area occurred on July 23-24, 2010. 32 businesses flooded and 4 industrial businesses lost production in areas on the south side of O’Hare International Airport.
If your business was impacted by the storms from July 22 – August 7, 2010 you can apply for FEMA business assistance. Federal disaster assistance totaling more than $313.4 million has been approved by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency for Illinois so far, and the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofit organizations totaling more than $52 million. Nov. 17 is also the deadline to return SBA loan applications.
